Gwendlyn Domingo

I am a fine artist based in Pleasanton, California, working primarily in oil painting while also experimenting with watercolor, acrylic, and polymer clay. My practice spans portraits, still life, and studies of masterworks, each piece an opportunity to deepen my craft and to honor the beauty found in everyday life. I love the very act of putting brush and color on canvas — transforming a flat surface into a vivid three-dimensional scene.
Alongside still life and portraiture, I am beginning to explore landscapes, inspired by the beauty of God’s creation — the richness of colors in nature and the shifting moods of the seasons. My style is rooted in representational painting, where I aim to capture mood, individuality, and presence — whether in the dignity of a portrait, the harmony of simple objects, or the atmosphere of a natural scene. Over the years, my work has been recognized with numerous awards in local art exhibitions, including the Gold Award for Emerging Artist (2019) in the City of Cupertino.

Having been an instructor at Evolve Artist (online art school) has also been an important part of my journey; it allows me to share knowledge, encourage other artists, and stay grounded in the belief that learning never truly ends.
I came fully to painting later in life, after raising my children, and that personal journey shapes much of my work. I believe deeply that it is never too late to follow one’s calling, and I hope my paintings inspire others to pursue their own passions with courage and joy.
