James McCabe

My photographic journey began 55 years ago in Swaziland at age10. With a Kodak Instamatic camera and an overwhelming curiosity I was driven to capture anything that moved. I progressed through several iterations of SLR film cameras and lenses, shooting hundreds of images hoping for those elusive “keepers”. They were always rare but so rewarding when the film came back weeks later with that one image that “nailed it”.

Thirty-five years in Southern Africa developed my passion for capturing the stunning beauty of its landscapes and wildlife.I am now based in Pleasanton, CA,  and continue my enduring love for our wild places, parks and deserts, and always on the lookout for that perfect keeper.
