Lewis Liu

Lewis Liu is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by profession, but his heart found a second calling in the world of art—an unexpected journey that began with a backpacking trip through California’s Sierra Nevada. While hiking the iconic John Muir Trail, he stumbled upon a quiet, shimmering pond tucked away in the Dusy Basin near Bishop. Captivated by the stillness and beauty of the alpine landscape, he took hundreds of photographs, each frame a silent promise to return to that moment—not just in memory, but on canvas.

When he got home, Lewis set out to fulfill that promise. He painted the scene, pouring into it the awe and peace he felt on the trail. That single painting sparked something deeper. Motivated to grow, he enrolled in art classes at Las Positas College, where he began studying oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, color theory, figure drawing, and more.
