Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved to draw and always spent more time drawing than most kids I knew. My main interest was having figures in all my favorite paintings at all times. I gradually have been inspired and influenced by many sources: native and tribal artists, abstract expressionists, surrealists, and of course, traditional fine art artists.
My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world I live in. I don’t limit myself to one medium, style, or concept. Inspiration and ideas change. Knowledge changes. Each piece I created is simultaneously an extension from the past, where I’ve come from and what I’ve learned. Through color, light, and texture, I create places that feel both familiar and dreamlike. My recent artwork includes both figurative work and abstract in my practice, incorporating acrylics and oil that blend abstract realism.
I seek to express movement, motion, and transformation and aspire to create new and stimulating artwork. That being said, I will time to time revert to the realism in which I was trained in the beginning of my artistic journey.
