Artist: Marina Omelianenko
Watercolor, framed. Size 16” x 20”
Artist statement about this piece:
This loose watercolor captures the stillness of a forest lake touched by the first frost. I allowed the paint to flow freely, layering soft washes of cool tones and leaving open spaces of paper to suggest ice and reflected light. The process mirrors the season itself—fragile, fleeting, and full of quiet transitions. My intention was not to depict every tree or ripple, but to evoke the hush of a frozen landscape, where autumn’s whisper lingers just before winter’s silence fully takes hold.
